Some things we go through in life change us. Sometimes it will feel like you are being broken down. But I want you to remember that those moments are not the full picture and in fact you are being built up. 2020 has been a hard year for most of us. I want you to know that you are not alone. If you lean into social media, the news, the radio, and daily interactions and you are bombarded with all the things.
What do you do when one bad thing happens after another? A pandemic, deaths, racial injustice, work changes, school changes, family sickness. It all challenges your faith. We are being challenged but we are not being destroyed. I want you to know that you can and will survive. Maybe your survival won’t look like you planned or expected but that is the best thing. Good things come from the unexpected.
I remember making posts earlier in the year about how my latter will be greater. I remember talking about how the best is yet to come no matter what it looks like. I still feel that way even though so much of the world makes me want to stay silent. But this is why I write. To remind myself and all of you that this is not the time to fold.
Keep your hands open to receive, keep your mind expecting the best that can happen. You may feel weak and that is okay. You are not required to be strong all the time. However if we are blessed with a new day, we are required to be present. So please, wake up, get up, the best way you know how.
The season is changing and I need you to hang in there because this storm will pass. I feel pain. I feel disappointment. I feel like its hard to have faith. But just like you, I fight. I pray. I stand, and I strive to enjoy each moment I have been given to live. I know that you may not have all the answers you want to hear right now but I promise you have enough. You are enough for this moment. Life prepares us for the unexpected by teaching us how to stay grounded when we are thrown off. Next time, you encounter a storm you will feel brave because you know what you have survived before. Be strong and courageous because an army of love is with you.
No one ever fights a battle alone. This is your reminder that you are deeply loved and protected.
