Protect black women

Grief is hard. We know that.

Especially when the suffering is long

I knew you even though we never met because you are me

Protect black women

Why haven’t we been guarded?

Where is our safe haven after giving birth to a nation ?

Your name is powerful to me

There’s value in your eyes

I pray this day for glory to shine along side us

We march when we don’t want to move

It’s the only way we can survive

Revival is taking place in the human race

And I just want you to know the ugly parts of this world are not a reflection of you

You are pure. You are true.

Our reflection is of the many women who have died unjustly

Our hearts hurt for the hits we take daily for just being who we are

I pause to unite with all in spirit

Together we will breathe again.

A song from my heart. “You Are Not Alone”
